In the middle of the Ria Formosa nature reserve - between Faro and Tavira - the almost undiscovered fishing village of Arroteia in located. A village right by the sea, where the beach is still deserted, Portuguese shellfish collectors and fishermen maintain their traditions and the sun sets over the sea and behind the mountains.

The Ria Formosa is a nature park in the Algarve, consisting of a widely ramified system of offshore sand islands, lagoons and tidal creeks. This area is known for the diverse, unique flora and fauna and differs significantly from the rest of the Algarve.

Our property is located at the entrance to Arroteia, a quiet, family village, ten minutes walk from the sea. At the end of a short path, somewhat hidden, are our two houses. The traditional country house, with two living units - the Casinha and the Casa do Pai and opposite the studio. Surrounded by orange plantations and fields of meadows, you can live undisturbed throughout the day.

We, the sisters Jule and Paula, have been managing our small property full of energy and joy since we inherited it from our father a few years ago. Working together on our heart project has welded us together ever since.
We renovate, renovate, dig and plant year after year - always with the idea of creating a sustainably grown oasis for our guests and ourselves.
